A useful finding tells you what it means, where it came from and what remains uncertain. These principles guide how we prepare research.

Start with a specific question
Define the geography, market, time period and selection criteria before collecting information. Research availability depends on the sources we can review and use; an enquiry is not a guarantee of coverage.
Record the source and its limits
Research records should include the source URL, publisher where known, observation date and a short evidence note. Public availability does not automatically grant reuse rights. Sources require review for permitted use and attribution.
A supplier’s statement is evidence of what the supplier claims. It is not independent certification of capability or quality.
Distinguish evidence from interpretation
Fact: Directly supported by the cited material, within its stated context.
Estimate: An approximate or calculated value whose assumptions should be stated.
Inference: A conclusion drawn from evidence rather than directly quoted from a source.
Unknown: Information we have not reliably established.
Confidence is an assessment of evidence strength, not a statistically calibrated probability or guarantee. A numerical score alone is insufficient without its context and limitations.
Make comparisons fairly
Names and identifiers are normalised to help compare records. Price comparisons need compatible specifications, currencies, units, tax treatment and observation periods. If these differ or are unknown, the difference should remain visible.
Keep time and uncertainty visible
An observation date records when information was checked. A freshness window identifies when review is due; it does not promise continuous monitoring or current stock and pricing. Refresh checks flag stale records, duplicate identifiers and conflicts for review. Missing values stay missing.
Allow corrections and rights requests
Submit evidence through our corrections form. Requests are recorded for operator review. A submission does not itself alter a dataset. Accepted changes require an approved refresh; urgent rights issues need operator attention.
Measure AI visibility honestly
Our monitoring framework records prompts, engines, citations, omissions and factual errors when observations are collected. A defined prompt set is not a completed monitoring baseline. We do not guarantee search inclusion, ranking, traffic or revenue.
Use research as decision support
Research cannot replace independent supplier checks or qualified professional advice. Verify material commercial and technical decisions directly. The scope, availability, price and delivery terms must be agreed before a paid engagement.
